As a local institution deeply rooted in our community, American Trust has always given back to society. Through charitable contributions, sponsored events, educational resources, and more, American Trust has made it part of our mission to provide the means and tools for everyone in our community to enhance their quality of life.
Not only does American Trust, as an institution, endeavor in philanthropic activities, but we also encourage our employees to volunteer, and strive to give them the means to do so. This effort has seen success in more than 6,270 personal hours volunteered in one year at health/human service agencies; civic, arts, and cultural organizations; churches; youth/sports clubs; and more.

Employer of the Year
American Trust was pleased and honored to be selected by the Executive Board of the Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce as Employer of the Year for 2008.
The bank has strived to meet Dubuque's needs through sound banking practices, conscientious employment, and philanthropic endeavors since 1911. Many of our employees tout 25, 30, and 40 plus years of tenure.
The award reflects the positive working environment and career enhancement American Trust provides for our employees. Additionally, we seek to expand the entire Dubuque and Tri-State area workforce. As part of our efforts to do so, we host an initiative to keep students here in Dubuque after graduation through tuition awards earned by interning and working here for at least one year after graduation.
