American Trust is making it affordable for developers to choose environmentally healthy design, construction and renovation practices.

Qualifying commercial loan applicants will receive below-market rates on environmentally friendly construction components, such as geothermal or solar heating, reuse of materials, Energy Star appliances and light fixtures, environmental remediation, and more.

The loan pool is built on a whole-building approach to sustainability, recognizing five key areas of human and environmental health:


The bank will use a base of standards to aid in determining if a building project qualifies for the program. Since each "green" construction or renovation project is unique, American Trust lenders will meet with developers and/or investors to evaluate each opportunity.
