How it Works

1. Completing the Application.
This application is a secure application your information and request are encrypted for privacy and safety. We do not require a fee to complete
the application, but we will require a minimum deposit when applying for a certificate of deposit, savings, or checking account. You may submit your deposit by sending a check in the mail, by wire, or by providing an American Trust deposit account number on the application.

The application will ask you for personal and financial information about you and any co-applicant. When you have completed the application and submit it to American Trust, a personal banker will verify the information and e-mail you a message regarding the status of your account request. Applicants must be residents of Iowa, Wisconsin, or Illinois.

Important Information About Procedures for Opening a New Account.
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask you for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documents before opening the account.

2. We'll send account disclosures, deposit receipt and a signature card.
Upon approval, your account disclosures, deposit receipt, and signature card will be mailed to you.

For your security, you will be required to sign and return the signature card by mail or by visiting any American Trust office.

3. Accessing your account.
Access to your account will be activated when we have received your deposit and verified your signed signature card. Interest rates are subject to change and will not be locked in until we receive your deposit and signed signature card.
